a fall walk

Yesterday, I went for a lunch time walk.

I stopped and paused when I reached this bridge.  It was covered in fall leaves.  Undisturbed.  Beautiful.

All images taken on my iPhone and edited with the VSCO Cam app.

Film. Fuji Superia 800.

The tree is up.

The house smells wonderful.

Lights hung above the fireplace and in the kitchen.

Little feet are covered in socks.

Warm fires every night.

I'm starting to hear the infamous question, "How many days...."

It's that time of year again.

It's been a while since I've looked forward to the holidays.

This year,  I can't wait.

apple picking

I visited an apple orchard for the very first time this past weekend.

One of my girls did not want to walk.  The other did not want to carry her apples.  So this mama carried a toddler, a basket of apples, and heavy dslr around an orchard all morning.  Exhausting!  I'm amazed that I was even able to capture these shots.

Any tasty apple recipes?  Suggestions welcome.

*Please excuse the blog over the next couple of days.  I'm updating - cleaning things up a bit.....

first adventure with the instax

undefinedundefinedundefined Fuji Instax 210 | Fuji Instax Wide Instant Film A few shots from my first adventure with the Fuji Instax, which was a lot of fun!  I knew that this camera was big, but I have to admit that I was shocked by HOW big!  It's definitely bigger than my daughter's toy camera - but it feels good in my hands.  It's definitely a conversation piece - I was stopped by the lady who owns this tree because she was so curious about what I was shooting with!  We ended up talking for almost an hour....

There's nothing quite like polaroids, but it felt good to go for a photo walk and return with a stack of pictures!  I think I'm going to like this camera.....

the first blooms

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined Kodak Ektar 100 When I saw these blooms outside my window, I smiled quietly to myself.  Spring is slowly making her way to the Northeast, even though the sky is cloudy and there is still a little chill in the air.

I love the promise that these blooms hold - Spring is a season of such renewal and awakening.

+ Thanks so much for your wonderful comments on my previous post.  It's so good to know that many of you feel the same way!

+ Also, thanks so much Astrid, who invited me to be a part of her Why do you shoot film? series.
