what makes a house a home

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined Film. Kodak Ektar 100 I've been thinking a lot about that lately.... what makes a house a home.  Is it family? love? traditions? food?  All I know is that each one of these images captures "home" for me.

As I prepare my family for yet another move, I'd love your thoughts on this!

I'll be away from this space next week, happily enjoying some time offline.

See you soon ~

busy, busy

I hope that you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

Congrats to Christina who won the giveaway for the spot in Creativity Boot Camp.  Your answers were so touching, I wish I could have given away a spot to everyone who entered....

Just wanted to let you know that I am going to be away from this space this week - I am extremely busy with a few things in my life that require my full attention.  Isn't that how life is sometimes?  I'll be back next week with more images to share.

I'll leave you with this capture of my baby girl playing in bed. I couldn't resist her reflection in the mirror!

Have a wonderful week, my friends ~

my weekend

In keeping with my theme of simplicity for this year, these are a few captures from my weekend.  Very relaxed as you can see!   I even enjoyed a little breakfast in bed.   It's safe to say that I have given up on trying to keep socks on my baby girl's feet.  Apparently, they are too tempting and must be taken off at all costs!

And the white outside the window?  Yes, that would be snow, my friends.   To say that I am ready for spring is an understatement.  I'm ready to venture out with my camera and capture all of the springtime goodness.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well~

happy weekend to you

Ending this week by sharing a few more film shots.  In the words of Sara Remington, "I've gone from spraying machine gun bullets with my digital to a slingshot and a rock with film."

Slowing down to notice the beauty and seemingly mundane of my life was one of the reasons that I fell in love with photography.  Film has allowed me to get back to that special place - where I notice, slowly compose and frame my image, and click the shutter.

Thanks for all of wonderful comments and visits this week!  This weekend, I'm working on a new photography project I hope to share with you soon.

Happy weekend, my friends.
