A Look Back | December Daily 2014
Now that's it's November, I am really starting to look forward to working on my foundation pages for my December Daily album. December Daily is a mini album project led by Ali Edwards that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. I participated last year, and I love the album that I completed, which I am sharing here today.
Most importantly, I loved the process of documenting a little bit every day in December.
I approach my December Daily album a bit differently from my Week In The Life album. For Week In the Life, I spend the entire week concentrating on taking photos and capturing the stories of our routine. My album comes together after the actual week is over.
For December Daily, I create all my foundation pages first, leaving room for journaling and photos. I leave my album out so that I can work on it at the end of each day in December. I usually add journaling and/or print a favorite picture from the day and simply add it in my album. I enjoy reflecting on that day and what I would like to remember. This process worked really well for me last year, and I plan to continue this approach this year.
I kept it simple and stamped the year with gold ink on the spine of my album. I used a Studio Calico 6x8 white handbook album.
On the inside cover, I used gold acrylic paint for a simple pattern. I wanted to break up all of the white space, and dress up my album a bit. The "Blessed" sticker is from the 'Faith' Big Sticker pack.
This is definitely a thick little book - full of memories!
Ali encouraged a page at the beginning of the album to document your reason why. I loved this idea. I added my journaling directly over a winter picture I took a few years ago when we lived in Pittsburgh.
Here is a closer look at some of my pages.
I punched holes in all of the Christmas cards we received and added them directly to the back of the album.
In the back of the album, I included other bits and pieces from the month that I wanted to keep in this Starbucks bag.
Just working on this post gets me excited for this year!
Are you working on a December Daily album this year?
