2016 Project Life Plans + Title Page

With a new year comes a fresh start to Project Life!  Once again, I am drawn to the tangible aspect of combining my photography with words.  I am looking forward to documenting our lives once again this year.

The biggest change this year is that I am switching to a 9x12 inch format.  This change is mainly to keep this creative outlet fresh and and evolving for me.  I am using a Studio Calico Gold Classic 9x12 Leather Album this year.

Here is a look at my 2016 Title Page:

2016 Project Life Title Page 9x12 | Azzari Jarrett

I designed the "20" and "16" 4x6 filler cards.  I simply trimmed them down to 3x4 to fit in the pockets. Loving the "I (still) shoot film" square flair badge I designed last year.  It is available at Scrapbook and More. I also used two 3x4 journal cards from Liz's Mantras collection - these are perfect for the new year.  Two of my own photos round out the page, with a black and white badge from a past Studio Calico kit (not 100% sure on which one!)

I plan to continue to leave my album out in my studio so that I can work on it when I have the time.  I am also sticking with a weekly format - however, I am not restricting myself to traditional 7 day weeks. I will adjust and break up weeks as it makes sense when documenting our stories.

And as always, I will continue to strive to combine my film photography in my layouts.

Project Life Fuse Tool | Azzari Jarrett

I have so many 12x12 page protectors that I'm not buying any new page protectors this year.  My plan is use my Fuse Tool to adjust my current page protectors as necessary.

6x8 album | Azzari Jarrett

And one of the things that I am looking forward to the most is that I am doing a "personal" album this year. No rules or restrictions, whatsoever.  I will document what I want, when I want, and there will be no guilt associated with "falling behind" or missing something, etc. I plan to capture things about myself that doesn't normally make my regular album - what I'm reading, drinking, listening to, etc.

For this album, I am using a Midnight 6x8 Becky Higgins album.  I used a little gold + acrylic paint and Heidi Swapp silk screens for the "Love" full page and peony on the bottom left corner. I cut out the "a" from a Crate and Barrel bag from a recent purchase.  The "Bring It 2016" card is from the Lollipop Guild Documenter Kit.

As you can see, I plan to explore a lot more creatively with this album - using a number of mixed media techniques and including lots of ephemera from my life.

I'm excited about this plan and the possibilities for this year.  There are just enough things staying the same, and a good bit of change to keep me challenged creatively.
